Standard First Aid Or Emergency First Aid Certification
Overview
First Aid Courses are designed to give citizens and employees the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver first aid to a person at work, at home or in public.
There are two main types of First Aid Certifications:
1) Standard First Aid (SFA) - 16 hours:
- Level C: Covers Adult, Child & Infant Resuscitation Skills + Adult First Aid
2) Emergency First Aid (EFA) - 8 hours:
- Level A: Covers Adult Resuscitation Skills + First Aid
- Level C: Covers Adult, Child & Infant Resuscitation Skills + Adult First Aid
Course Content Highlights Included in SFA & EFA:
- Emergency Scene Management
- Resuscitation Skills: CPR AED & Choking
- Shock, Fainting, Unconsciousness, Head, Spine and Pelvic Injury
- Severe Bleeding, Burns, Medical Conditions And More...

Certification Details:
Certification: Yes
Length of Certification: 3 years for SFA & EFA
* Annual renewal of CPR AED skills is highly recommended
Length of Training: SFA (Approximately 16 hours) & EFA (Approximately 8 hours)
Audience: SFA & EFA is for the general public, and those requiring a certification for work, education, volunteer or recreational activity or other certification requirement

Training Options:
- Full In-Class Session
- Blended (Part Online + Part In Class) - Coming Soon
Recertification Options:
- If you have a SFA certification (16 hour course), you may renew your certification with EFA (8 hour course)
- If you have an EFA certification, you will be required to re-take the SFA course within 3 years (every other renewal you must repeat the full 16 hour course)
- If you only require an EFA certification (8 hour course), then you will re-take EFA
Certification Requirements:
- Successfully pass a skills assessment & an exam

Workplace Health & Safety Compliancy
- SFA and EFA are regulated to be compliant with Workplace Health and Safety Requirements. It is your responsibility to determine the exact certification requirement you need and this will vary depending on where you live and for the purpose that you require the certification for; In Canada SFA & EFA follow federal and provincial legislation and guidelines
- SFA and EFA are WSIB approved in Ontario
